Never in her wildest dreams did Bebe Obering believe her little boy would one day direct billions of dollars in systems to swat down missiles.
"His father and I took him when he was just a toddler out to Kiddie Land, and he would not ride the Ferris wheel," the Vestavia Hills woman said.
Air Force Lt. Gen. Henry Anthony "Trey" Obering III defends his childhood fear of the Ferris wheel. "It was very simple. I could not control the thing," he said during the Wednesday telephone interview.
Obering is a graduate of St. Barnabas Regional School and John Carroll Catholic High School.
